Label Character Limit Test
This page includes a pair of form fields. The first is a text input field with an absurdly long label, and the second is a pair of radio buttons with an absurdly long legend. The purpose is to determine whether there are length limitations in screen readers' support for labels and legends when users are navigating in forms mode (i.e., tabbing into form fields).
Observations
- JAWS 2018 in Chrome 72.x reads the entire label.
- NVDA 2018.4 in Chrome 72.x reads the entire label.
- VoiceOver in Safari on Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.6) reads the entire label.
- JAWS in Chrome reads only up to the "Na" in "Nature" within the legend (255 characters including spaces)
- NVDA reads the entire legend.
- VoiceOver reads the entire legend (twice!)
