Mixed Link Text Tests

This page includes two tests. Each is a heading/link which contains a variety of information that screen readers could announce. Listed in order from outer to inner element, they are:

• An anchor with a title attribute "title 1"
• An image with an alt attribute "alt 1"
• Text "Test 1"

In the second test, the number 1 is replaced with number 2 in the value of each of these items. The first test has no unique styling applied to any of the elements. The second test positions the image offscreen.

Screen Reader Test Results

• JAWS 10, when navigating between headings with "h" key, does not read anchor title, but does read both alt and visible text. This is true in both examples (i.e., regardless of whether images are positioned offscreen).
